The Special Interest Group on Culture and Sexuality, chaired by Dr. Vasudeo Paralikar, organized a webinar on July 29, 2022, at 7:30 PM IST, featuring three presentations that examined sexuality and its intersections with culture, prevention, and clinical practice in the Indian context. Dr. Ujjwal Nene, Clinical Psychologist and Sexual Health Consultant, delivered an introductory overview of sexuality within Indian cultural frameworks; Ms. Ankita Deshmukh, Clinical Psychologist, addressed the role of socio-cultural assessments in the prevention of sexual violence; and Dr. Suchita Agrawal, Psychiatrist, presented on the Indian program for the primary prevention of sexual violence against children, with the session concluding with participant comments and an open discussion.
